We are proud to share the news of a 7000€ donation by the Metalworkers Association of Valsesia and Cusio to the Lancia Institute of Higher Education of Borgosesia, destined to the implementation of classrooms and mechanics laboratories for the students. VIR’s president Savino Rizzio, together with the incoming prior Pier Giorgio Fornara, delivered and signed the symbolical check at the Institute: “the demand for qualified personnel is high and requires investments and attention from the companies to the technical schools, which are responsible for the formation and education of the workforce of the future” said Mr. Rizzio. Present at the event were also the former priors Anna Maura Zanfa and Ferruccio Morganti. The Lancia Institute of Higher Education is, in fact, the place where many young workers and entrepreneurs of the Valsesia area are formed, and we are happy to support the education of the young minds of the future …

We are proud to present our first success case of the year by Dubai’s exclusive Emaar beachfront. Grand Bleu Tower is a residential complex under construction by UAE’s Emaar Properties, offering luxury apartments and penthouses in Dubai Harbour. The interiors are a first or their kind: designed by renowned Lebanese fashion icon Elie Saab, the units reflect the aesthetic signature of the designer. VIR has supplied its products to the development of the HVAC units of this grand project and is looking forward to seeing it completed by fall 2023. SOS Children’s Villages was founded by Hermann Gmeiner, a young medical student who had witnessed firsthand the suffering of so many children orphaned after World War II. In 1949, he opened the first SOS Village in Imst, Tyrol-Austria; more than 70 years later, SOS Children’s Villages’ presence has grown to more than 130 countries and territories around the world. In Italy, the Organization promotes the rights of over 39.000 children and young people and takes care of over 700 people, through 8 Programs and SOS Villages in Trento, Ostuni (Brindisi), Vicenza, Saronno (Varese), Mantua, Turin, Crotone and Milan. VIR proudly supplied its valves for the Leonardo supercomputer, the fourth most powerful computer in the world. Located at the Tecnopolo, in the heart of Bologna’s mechanical hub, the supercomputer is capable of performing millions of billions of operations per second and is considered as an infrastructure per se. Leonardo processes weather forecasts and climate studies, but also of projects in the field of materials physics and fluid dynamics. Leonardo’s energy efficiency is achieved through a direct circulating liquid cooling system residing on top of the computing motherboards. That’s where VIR valves came into play: this cooling allows 95% of the heat dissipated inside the rack to be extracted and reused for different purposes. VIR was one of the early adopters of BIM (Building Information Modeling), as our company was always aware of the growing need for designers, engineers and architects alike for detailed digitalised models of their projects. Torre UnipolSai in Milano is a 120 meter high office skyscraper with rooftop greenhouse garden, the first of its kind in Milano, and designed according to energy-efficient parameters, with double cavities along the outer walls for improved temperature regulation, solar panels and rain water storage. Construction started in 2017 and is scheduled to be completed by Spring 2023.
