Located at the Tecnopolo, in the heart of Bologna&#8217;s mechanical hub, the supercomputer is capable of\u00a0performing millions of billions of operations per second\u00a0and is considered as\u00a0an infrastructure per se. Leonardo processes\u00a0weather forecasts and climate studies, but also of projects in the field of materials physics and fluid dynamics.\u00a0Leonardo&#8217;s energy efficiency is achieved through a direct\u00a0circulating\u00a0liquid cooling system residing on top of the computing motherboards.\u00a0That\u2019s where VIR valves came into play: this cooling allows\u00a095%\u00a0of the heat\u00a0dissipated inside the rack to be extracted and reused for different purposes.
