| VIR was founded in 1971 by Mr. Savino Rizzio to perpetuate a company already operating for decades in the valve and fitting industry. |

VIR was set up in Valduggia, near Vercelli, an important Piedmontese industrial zone which - together with its counterpart in the Brescia area - produces practically the entire Italian output of valves and fittings.
VIR's main business is the production and distribution of ball valves, balancing valves, motorized valves and butterfly valves in brass, bronze, polypropylene and cast-iron, for the HVAC sector and irrigation.
VIR produces over 10 million valves a year, which are exported to more than 90 countries around the world through a capillary network of importers, agents and exclusive dealers. |
The company has its own internal technical department, highly specialized in the designing and joint-designing of products, which employs the continuous research and improvement of its articles as well as the development of those products that support the specific needs and functions of its customers.
In order to support the wide range of products and noteworthy flexibility of its production, VIR, for a long time now, has set up an internal structure able to design and construct machinery and equipment according to specific requirements.
The VIR factory system is certified according to the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 Standards (ICIM 0062/4 Certificate).
VIR products have also been awarded specific certifications given by major North American, Australian and Scandinavian boards of certification.
VIR has developed steadily over the years, and today it has 140 employees and an annual turnover of over 35,000,000 euro, 90% of which from export.
VIR is today one of the world-leading Italian producers of copper alloy valves. |

In 2003, VIR purchased the company, RWVC (Red White Valve Corp.) which is located in Lake Forest, California (USA). They primarily distribute valves and VIR products all over the US territory; a market that requires an excellent level of quality and particular attention to ecology and the environment.
As a result, VIR has developed a specific production process, which together with the materials used, produces products with a very low level of polluting substances, so low that they have been awarded the US NSF Standard 61 Certification.
At the basis of the success achieved is the constant commitment and total conviction that the future lies in the research and development of products even more advanced and innovative. |
